Speaking of trout, Lake Ginzan comes to mind. In those days before the Shinkansen and expressways, I took a night train from Ueno Station to Niigata and fished on the opening day of the fishing season at Lake Ginzan, which stands at the foot of the Ginzan River. I miss those long-ago days.
