In the great Nusiak River, which flows into the Bering Sea in Alaska, I painted a picture of the moment when a kingfish swimming upstream to spawn passed a kingfish fry born the previous year upstream. When I actually caught a kingfish, I noticed the presence of the fry swimming down into the sea. The fry turn their heads upstream and head towards the sea. Yes, a long adventure and journey of wandering had just begun. It was nothing short of a grand romance.
